After several years of working in the financial industry, Spence with his partners founded The Cornerstone Group, LLC in order to provide their clients with a higher level of service and personal attention. The firm’s independence provides the flexibility that is vital to deliver a customized financial strategy.
Spence’s desire is to assist his clients in defining and achieving their financial success. As a CERTFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional, he firmly believes this can only be accomplished through personal, comprehensive planning. Prior work experience has given Spence the ability to work with clients from many diverse financial situations.
Spence is originally from Tuscaloosa Alabama where he attended the University of Alabama and received his Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration. During the twenty years he spent as an officer in the United States Air Force, he was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses, 21 Air Medals and two Meritorious Service Medals. Also, while in the Air Force he earned a Masters in Science in Management degree from Troy State University. He retired from the Air Force in 1990 and moved to Ocean Springs, MS. In 1992, he received the designation of CERTFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional, and holds several FINRA registrations including General Securities Principal (Series 24), through LPL Financial.
In the community, Spence has served on the board of directors for the Walter Anderson Museum of Art, the Ocean Springs Rotary Club, the Salvation Army of Pascagoula, and the Historical Ocean Springs Saltwater Fly Fishing Club. In his spare time he enjoys saltwater fishing, snow skiing, and traveling with his wife, Diane.
